Vision for the Conference
This Conference provides both Christians and Christian
organizations of all denominations with a plan
for revitalizing, deepening, and renewing their relationship
with God.
Having a plan is
one of the principal ways for maximizing spiritual growth.
Without a plan, we
become victims of our whims, our moods, and our passing
fancies. We become susceptible to the forces that lead
us away from God. The result? We are rendered ineffective.
We may feel we are busy, but we have no direction.
One of the best ways of developing a plan
for revitalizing our relationship with God is to seek
guidance from our Christian forefathers who, for centuries,
pursued lives of exemplary devotion. Throughout history,
they sought to balance:
Balance among these Traditions leads to more wholesome
spiritual growth. On the other hand, too much of one and
too little of another creates imbalance. The result? We
are undernourished. We may be "busy" in our relationship
with God, but we are ill or wasting away.
Practical Strategies Resulting
from the Conference
This conference provides participants with time-tested,
practical tools for growing spiritually. It explores the
Church's historic role in personal and corporate spiritual
formation. It identifies three missing ingredients in
many of our spiritual lives. It demonstrates the benefit
of face-to-face groups. It provides helpful suggestions
for conducting successful groups.
